Plus & Large calls · Extended intake

A deeper view of your technology, market and funding strategy.

For multi-call portfolios (Plus and Large-calls tiers), we prepare a more thorough analysis. This intake takes about 15 minutes and gives us what we need to scope the right portfolio, efficiently and primarily in writing, so we can serve clients across all EU countries equally well.

1 · Company profile

Tell us about your company.

The basics we need to assess fit with cascade calls. All information remains confidential.

Optional. Some cascade calls (e.g. PRECISEU, ERDF-derived hubs) reserve funding for specific regions rather than entire countries. If you operate in a recognised region, please indicate it.

Many cascade calls require EU/EEA ownership and control. This also affects how your SME size is assessed (a parent company’s size can count toward yours).

2 to 4 sentences: what does your company do, who are your customers, what makes you distinctive?

2 · Technology & innovation

What technology would you fund?

Cascade evaluators look closely at technological maturity and innovation potential. Be specific, vague answers reduce match accuracy.

Technology Readiness Level (TRL). The EU uses a 9-point scale from basic principles (TRL 1) to fully proven in operational environment (TRL 9). Most cascade calls target TRL 5 to 8. If unsure, choose your best estimate and we will refine it together.

1 = basic principles · 2 = concept formulated · 3 = proof of concept · 4 = lab tested · 5 = validated in relevant environment · 6 = prototype demonstrated · 7 = system in operational environment · 8 = system qualified · 9 = fully proven in operations

What does it do? How does it work, in plain language? What is the technical breakthrough or improvement vs existing solutions?

If your product is subject to sector-specific regulation, where are you in that process?

3 · Market & impact

Where does this go to market?

Cascade applications increasingly require a credible market and impact narrative. The clearer your answer, the stronger your application.

Who buys this? Be specific, “enterprises” is not specific. “Mid-market hospitals in Germany” is.

Customers, pilot projects, LOIs, paid contracts, anything indicating market validation. List specific numbers if possible.

Most EU programs require alignment with one or more impact areas. Cross-cutting technologies often qualify under multiple.

4 · Funding request

What would you do with the grant?

A rough plan is fine, we will refine the budget together as part of the application work.

Some cascade calls (especially in cyber and industrial AI) require beneficiaries to co-finance 25 to 50% of project costs from their own funds. Indicate the level you could realistically commit.

Approximate percentages, not binding. Most cascade calls require this structure for evaluation.

3 to 5 specific, measurable objectives. What concrete results will you achieve with this funding?

Optional. Helps us understand your experience and avoid past pitfalls.

5 · Strategic fit & preferences

A few questions to fine-tune our analysis.

These help us prioritise calls that actually fit your strategy, not just calls you technically qualify for.

What is driving the timing? A specific milestone, market window, customer commitment, competitor move?

Some cascade calls require partnerships with research institutes or other SMEs. We help you formulate a partner search and use the call platforms’ built-in partner-search tools, we don’t maintain a fixed partner network ourselves.

If you win, the work has to be delivered alongside your existing operations. How many FTE could you realistically free up for grant-funded projects over the next 12 months?

Some calls require specific geographic eligibility (e.g. widening countries, or specific member-state participation).

Constraints, preferences, conflicts of interest, sensitivities. Optional but useful.

Ready to submit?

Within 48 hours you will receive a tailored Plus/Large-calls Match Report, typically 4 to 7 pages, with 2 to 4 cascade calls assessed in depth: recommended approach, win-probability estimate, and indicative timeline. Free of charge, no commitment.
